I am very excited for what I am going to be doing today. My fiancé just surprised me with two tickets to the famous Globe Theater. I have never been to the theater and am anxious and excited to see what goes on behind the closed doors. I have heard from many people and from reviews in the paper of how excellent the actors and directors put together Shakespeare's' work into actions on stage. We rode to the theater in a carriage and the trip there was very beautiful and scenic. Once we enter the big wooden doors, I see the thousands of people gathered and the loud chitchat coming from all the audience members. The atmosphere was so busy and exciting. I was so glad to be a part of it. My fiancé and I arrived at about 2 pm, a half an hour earlier than the time the play was to start because we wanted to get a good seat in the pit. Seats in the pit only cost one cent, and that was all we could afford. Before sitting, we bought some nuts to snack on and then proceeded to our seats. We were here to watch Romeo and Juliet, one of Shakespeare's most famous plays. I enjoyed watching a love story while sitting next to the man I loved. The theater is in the shape of a circle and it looks like almost every seat in the gallery is filled. Once the play began, the chitchat did not cease, but I was still able to enjoy the actors' and actresses' performances. At the end members of the audience were able to sit o the stage. If my fiance and I get the chance to come again I want to sit on the stage next time; it looked fun. I hope that one day when we are married, we will bring our kids here to experience the art of theater.
